DearAll is operated by Nico, based in the Netherlands.
1. Information We Collect
DearAll collects minimal information necessary to provide the service. This includes:
- User Account: Email Address and Name.
- Newsletters: Title and the list of Subscribers (Names and Emails) you invite.
- Issues: Questions added by the newsletter owner.
- Answers: Text and Photos submitted by recipients in response to questions.
- Technical Data: Standard server logs, including your IP address and browser type, which are collected automatically to ensure the security and performance of the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process your data to provide the DearAll service you request and based on your consent. Your information is used solely for:
- Sending you the newsletters you have subscribed to.
- Authenticating you via magic links.
- Displaying your answers within the newsletter issues.
- Providing technical support and responding to your inquiries.
- Improving the service functioning (e.g., debugging) and ensuring platform security.
Your newsletters, answers, and photos are private and only visible to members of your invited group (and, only when strictly necessary, by technical administrators to resolve bugs or provide support).
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate DearAll. We use EU-based servers where possible. Some providers may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards:
- DigitalOcean: Our application and database are hosted on DigitalOcean's Amsterdam servers (AMS3), where your account and newsletter data are stored securely.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): We use AWS servers located in Frankfurt (eu-central-1) to deliver our emails (Amazon SES) and to securely store any photos you upload (Amazon S3).
- Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our registration forms from bots and spam.
4. Cookies
We use cookies only for essential purposes, such as keeping you logged in and ensuring the security of your session. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. You can unsubscribe from a newsletter at any point using the link provided in the emails.
If you wish to delete your account, please contact us. (A self-service deletion option is coming soon).
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
